This audiovisual performance explores the themes of displacement and self-identification, translating the emotional and psychological journey of self-searching into a dynamic sensory experience. Inspired by Harajuku aesthetics, the piece blends vibrant chaos with delicate fragmentation, reflecting both the playful and disoriented aspects of identity formation.
Built with TouchDesigner, custom MIDI controllers, and Ableton, the performance integrates real-time audiovisual manipulation. At its center, the custom MIDI controller features a large Chinese character "我" (SELF), symbolizing identity as a shifting construct. Silicone body parts serve as interactive elements—distorting with touch and triggering generative visuals and soundscapes, reflecting the fragmented nature of self-perception.
